How do I book an appointment?
Either by telephone by ringing 0121 580 7171 or by letter, fax or email via your optician or GP.
Do I need a referral?
Yes, you do need a referral from your GP or optician unless you are having corrective eye surgery or cosmetic eye surgery with us.
How do I pay?
If you are insured, invoices are sent directly to your insurance company. If you are paying for treatment yourself, we accept cash, cheque and all major credit cards and we advise that payment should be made in advance of your consultation or treatment.
How long do I have to wait for an appointment?
All of our consultants hold weekly clinics at Spire Eye centre.
How long is an appointment?
Consultations are between 30 minutes to 1 hour appointments.
What happens at my consultation?
You need to report to the Spire Eye Centre reception in the first instance so all your personal details can be checked. You will then be asked to take a seat and your consultant will call you into the consulting room. The consultant will then give you a thorough examination and suggest any test, investigations or procedures that would be advisable.
Can I use my medical insurance?
Yes, we will invoice your insurance directly.
Which consultant will I see?
Your GP or optician will recommend a consultant Ophthalmic surgeon who specialises in your condition.
