Mr. Ramesh Sivaraj

Specialist interests: Medical Retinal conditions, diabetic eye disease, intraocular inflammation and cataract surgery.

Mr. Sivaraj has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with a special interest in Medical Retinal conditions, diabetic eye disease, intraocular inflammation & cataract surgery since 2010. He has completed a Medical Retinal fellowships from Moorfields Eye Hospital & the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre. He has also gained vitreo-retinal, uveitis and cataract fellowships at Sankara Nethralaya, a prestigious tertiary referral centre in Southern India.

He specialises in age related macular degeneration (ARMD), diabetic retinopathy & maculopathy, retinal vascular disease, intraocular inflammation and cataract surgery. The Macula Service Mr Sivaraj runs at Good Hope Hospital won the ‘Clinical Excellence Award’ by the Macular Society in 2015.

He has performed over 1500 phacoemulsification & small incision cataract surgeries & over 5000 intravitreal injections including anti VEGF & the recently NICE approved long acting steroid implants Ozurdex & Iluvien. He has also carried out Stereotactic Radiotherapy (ORAYA) treatment for wet age related macular degeneration which compliments injection therapy.
